Demonstration Events

This event replicates an event that collects Year 12 students orders for their graduate jumpers. Read our tips below to help you when setting up your own event like this:

1. Basic Details
   Make sure to include the cut off date for orders. You can add the pickup method (e.g. will be delivered to students class in Term 2) and features of the jumper (e.g. Jumpers will display the class of 2020's names on the back). Include your refunds policy in the terms and conditions.
2. Sessions
   At the time of setting up the event it's likely you do not know when you will receive the jumpers/when they'll be available for pickup. If this is the case, tick the 'is this an online only' event checkbox and set the session dates to be the final day you will accept orders.
3. Tickets
   Add a ticket type for each item followed by the price. You can ass additional information in the ticket description such as 'Year 12 commemorative jumper with all 2020 graduates names on the back. You can specify the size and nickname you would like on the checkout page.'
4. Collect Information
   Add 3 custom questions that are asked 'per ticket', including student name, nickname for the jumper and what size jumper would you like?
5. Cover photo
   If you have an image of the design of the jumper add this in as the cover photo, or include a year level picture of the students.

This event replicates Uniform shop event. Read our tips below to help you when setting up your own event like this:

1. Basic Details
   Make sure to include the opening hours for the school uniform and directions of how to get there/where it's located on the school grounds. You can add the pickup method and be sure to include your refunds policy in the terms and conditions.
2. Sessions
   We recommend setting up the event to run each term. At the end of term duplicating the event and update the ticket sale/session dates to suit the following term.
3. Tickets
   Create a ticket type for each Uniform item for sale, be sure to include a photo of each item so parents know what they're purchasing! If you have limited stock you can create a ticket for each size (e.g. Rugby Jumper size small) or you can create a custom question asking what size they would like.
4. Collect Information
   Add a custom question for the students name, email and size (if applicable).
5. Cover photo
   Add in a picture of your students wearing the correct school uniform!

You could set up a stall for Mothers Day, Fathers Day or any other special occasion! Read our tips below to help you when setting up your own event like this:

1. Basic Details
   This is a great area to include the pick-up method, whether the gifts will be delivered or they will be contacted and allocated a time to pick them up from your school. The event setting 'Discoverable via public listings' dictates whether the event appears on the CompassTix homepage and in the 'browse Events' section. If you select 'no', the only way parents can access your event is by sharing your unique URL.
2. Sessions
   This event can Check the box 'is this session online?' - this will mark it as an online event and you won't need to specify a location or venue name. Specify the date and time - this can either be the date the gifts will be picked-up by parents or span over the period tickets are available, 
3. Tickets
   CompassTix allows you to create unlimited ticket types. You will create a ticket type for each item you are selling. You can add an image to each of your tickets  so buyers can see what the item is.
4. Collect Information
   In this event, we want to know the students name. This information will be available in the bookings export. You are able to specify whether these questions are asked once for the entire booking or asked per ticket (e.g. you get 2 tickets you get asked for the student name twice.) For this event, we only need to know one students name, so we have selected per booking.
5. Cover photo
   Upload your cover photo, this should have the dimensions of 710 X 410, however if you upload an image it will be automatically resized to best fit.

This event replicates our school tour event that runs each term. We recommend duplicating and creating a new event each term. Read our tips below to help you when setting up your own event like this:

1. Basic Details
   Make sure to include information about your school and the limits on numbers (e.g. 'please only select up to 4 tickets per family, children under 4 years do not need a ticket). You can state the start time (please arrive at the school office at 11:00am for an 11:15 start). And what they should do if they can no longer attend the session (if you can no longer attend your school tour time please let us know by clicking the 'contact organiser' button on the right or calling the school on 9876 5432).
   You can choose to update the event setting 'would you like to receive emails when people get tickets?' to yes (optional).
2. Sessions and Tickets
   Create your first session with the location as the school and specify the date the first session will be running. Then (before you create any more sessions) create your first ticket. This means when you duplicate your session the ticket will automatically be created and assigned to the correct session. Then scroll back up to step 2 sessions and click 'duplicate', edit the new session and update the session name, date and time. Click save.
3. Collect Information
   Add in your custom questions, some may include: What year are you intending on enrolling your child? (Question type: dropdown) What is the name of your child? (Question type: short answer), Do you live within our school zone (Question type: single answer or toggle), What year level would you like to enrol your student (Question type: dropdown).
4. Cover photo
   Use a picture of your school grounds, logo or your students as the cover photo.

This event replicates Audition event, such as audition sign up for the school. Read our tips below to help you when setting up your own event like this:

1. Basic Details
   Make sure to specify the length of the time slot, who it's with, the location and to only select 1 ticket per person.
2. Sessions and Tickets
   This event is unique in the sense there are often many time slots over one or a few days, all at the same location. Because of this, we recommend setting the event up with one session (covering the whole period) and multiple ticket types titled the appointment date/time.
   E.g.  Ticket 1 is called 'Monday December 1st - 12pm', Ticket 2 is called 'Monday December 1st - 12:30pm'. Etc.
   You can limit how many of each ticket type a person can select by setting the 'max tickets per order' setting to 1.
3. Collect Information
   Have questions for your ticket buyers? You have the option to choose from our pre-made questions list or create your own! Simply select the ones you'd like to include and if they are 'required'.
4. Cover photo
   Upload your cover photo, this should have the dimensions of 710 X 410, however if you upload an image it will be automatically resized to best fit.

This event replicates a school formal event. Read our tips below to help you when setting up your own event like this:

1. Basic Details
   Include the details such as the venue, theme, arrival time and rules on who can attend (e.g. guest limit, age restrictions etc).
2. Sessions
   Add the date/time of the formal and the venue name/location. We've set it up to run all year for demonstration purposes only, you will select a session date based on when the event is held.
3. Tickets
   Create 2 ticket types, one for a student ticket (limit of 1 per booking) and a guest ticket (limit of 1 per booking).
4. Collect Information
   Add a custom question that is asked per ticket, such as student name (for student ticket only) and guest name (for guest ticket only).
5. Cover photo
   Add in a cover photo for your formal - we've added one that matches the invitation sent out to students.

Tip: If food is provided at your event you can collect dietary requirements or preferences through custom questions.

This event replicates a school 'Pizza Day' fundraiser. Read our tips below to help you when setting up your own event like this:

1. Basic Details
   When you run an event where food or items are purchased, we suggest including a brief description on how the items will be delivered, when, the pricing and the cut off dates for ordering. In this event we also included a photo of the pizza options to display their prices.
2. Sessions
   Set the session to be the date of the fundraiser.
3. Tickets
   You can create unlimited ticket types. Create one for each type of pizza, you can also add an image if you have one! In this event we also created a package called 'Lunch Pack' that contains 3 tickets ( 1 X pizza, 1X packet of chips and 1 X Drink). We also set the 'Drink' and 'Packet of chips' ticket to be hidden, so they are not available for individual purchase and are only available in the lunch pack.
4. Collect Information
   We created two custom questions (asked per booking) requesting the students name and class.
5. Cover photo
   Upload your cover photo, this should have the dimensions of 710 X 410, however if you upload an image it will be automatically resized to best fit.
